This woman has literally given us more than she will ever know, me in particular. All in the Family remains my number one sitcom of all time (Golden Girls number 2 and Roseanne number 3) for soooo many reasons. Breaking down barriers, calling attention to bigotry, no holds barred humor and ballsy dialogue just to name a few. Norman Lear was a freakin’ genius and it shows in his shows and his casting. Jean Stapleton as Edith Bunker was a dingbat with more depth than anyone else has yet to portray on television. Her presence lit up the screen. She died on Friday of natural causes at 90 years old. I will always love you, Edith Bunker.
It’s sad but true. I actually enjoyed Kathy Griffin’s weekly chat show, “Kathy” on Bravo, but apparently I was one of the only ones because it has been officially cancelled. I believe it was because it was only on once a week. Something like that needs to be on every night IMHO. I love Kathy to bits and I know something else will be happening for her right around the corner. If not on TV she will most definitely be performing in a city near you for lots of cash.
Tonight is the X-Factor UK final. The all male showdown consists of James Arthur (pictured above), Jahmene Douglas and Christopher
Baloney (eh hem) Maloney. Tonight the contestants will perform twice and one of these will be a duet with their mentors. Nicole Shirtswinger has two acts in the final (James and Jahmene) and Gary Barlow will be performing with Christopher. I don’t know what upsets me more, the fact that Rylan didn’t make it to the final or that we missed out on a performance from Union J and Louis Walsh. (photo via Twitter)
